Self-worth
When pressure to be perfect shatters self-esteem
I’m not perfect? Am I even good enough? These questions haunt teens when they see the images of their peers on social media. They might also torment adults when confronted with setbacks, job loss, or when a promising relationship is shattered. The trend toward self-optimization is far from over, but, in the eyes of God, someone who’s gone through hard times has the same worth as a successful businessman. Our dignity and value is not linked to our efficiency or talents, but rooted in the fact that we are created as unique human beings, unconditionally loved by God.
