Meeting people of other religions personally helps you understand their cultures and traditionsand is the best remedy against prejudices. Here are three examples of how to dial up the interreligious dialogue in everyday life.
Giving their smiles and talents
I recently accompanied a group of girls and boys in Atlanta on a trip to an assisted living home to visit elderly people with Alzheimer’s. Before we went, we reminded one another that the most important thing is to love one another so that Jesus would be present among us. Afterwards the children shared their thoughts on the visit:
“We were sure that Jesus would give joy to each person we would meet. We also prayed to God to help us be courageous in giving our smiles and talents.”
